Liam Gallagher Has No Interest in Oasis’ Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nomination

In February 2025, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its list of nominees, featuring prominent bands such as Oasis, the White Stripes, and Outkast.

This marks the second consecutive year that Oasis has been nominated for this prestigious honor.

Despite the recognition, Liam Gallagher, the lead vocalist of Oasis, has expressed his disinterest in the nomination. In a candid statement, he remarked, "I still think the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is for wankers."

This sentiment echoes his previous reactions; upon learning of Oasis's nomination in 2024, Gallagher took to social media, stating, "Fuck the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame," and described the institution as being full of "BUMBACLARTS," a term of Anglo-Jamaican slang.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, established to honor artists who have made significant contributions to the music industry, has often been a subject of debate among musicians. To be eligible for nomination, an artist's first commercial recording must be at least 25 years old. The final list of inductees is typically announced in late April, with the induction ceremony held in the fall.

While many view induction as a prestigious acknowledgment of an artist's impact, Gallagher's dismissive stance highlights the varied perspectives within the music community regarding such accolades.
